A ground fish video survey system collaboratively developed by Professor Kevin Stokesbury at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ’s School for Marine Science & Technology, graduate students, and fishermen may provide real-time visual information as well as more accurate measurements of the Atlantic cod population.
Stokesbury and his research team – including graduate students Travis Lowery and Nick Calabrese – designed the system so they could identify the species in every image and help regulators manage the fishery.
